Step by step
The actual Refine workflow.
Create the assignment and rubric
Choose compatible groups, enter the Assignment Title and Instructions / Prompt, choose the assignment type, set the maximum grade, and configure Grading Criteria & Performance Levels. Tutorials
Open student work
Move through the assignment’s generated student labels and add each student’s Original Text. Refine’s label workflow does not require real student names. Tutorials
Analyze and inspect suggestions
Run Analyze Text with AI, then compare Corrected Text, Text with Error Highlights, Error Details, Strengths, Areas to Improve, AI Feedback, and the Suggested Grade where available.
Edit and make the decision
Write or revise Teacher Feedback, apply the rubric, and enter the Teacher Grade. Refine’s suggestions remain advisory; the teacher submits the official grade.
Save, copy, or export
Save the reviewed work, copy corrected text or feedback, or choose sections to export as PDF or DOCX.
What stays with the teacher
Refine supports a judgment call. It does not replace one.
Accept, revise, or dismiss
AI-generated corrections and feedback can be changed before they are saved or shared.
Submit the official grade
The Suggested Grade and Teacher Grade are distinct fields in the grading workspace.
Choose the final output
The teacher decides which reviewed sections to copy or include in PDF and DOCX exports.
